Where would we be without our favourite TV shows and a bowl (read: bucket) of popcorn after a long, hard day hitting the books? Here are three returning gems that’ll make us jump for the remote when they grace our screens again:
Orange is the New Black
With a heavily anticipated third season slated for some time in June or July, everyone’s favourite prison drama will return to our ‘Recently Watched’ Netflix bar come summer. The second season has a 97% ‘fresh’ rating on critic review site Rotten Tomatoes (which is higher than the first season’s ratings of 94%). The next episodes are tipped to be bigger and better.
Season two finished with one of the most satisfying endings in TV history, with Rosa on her way out in truly epic fashion and the bad bitch of the season getting her long overdue come-uppance. Here’s hoping season three, out 12 June, will be just as thrilling.

Christmas may be a long way off yet, but we’re already whiling away the months until Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman take care of our evening viewing once more. Rumour has it the Christmas special will be based around the Conan Doyle story, The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle, with images of Watson (Freeman) wandering around set in period clothing sparking online discussion.
According to iDigital Times, the sultry Irene Adler (Lara Pulver) may return for season four, but after the stunt pulled at the end of season three, we’ve learnt not to trust co-creator Steven Moffat or any sneaky internet info likely spread by him. Fingers crossed this season will be a little more spaced out than its predecessors – the third season came and went so fast people were still on a high the day after the finale.
Future seasons have already been planned but until then, a nice murder should cheer us right up.

Game of Thrones
Get ready because The Imp is back! Last time we saw fan-favourite Tyrion, he was walking away from a rather messy scene in the privy towards Lord Varys, who shipped him off to the Free Cities, leaving us on the edge of our seats.
This season we were introduced to new, interesting characters, many of whom book-readers have been dying to see on the small screen. At various times we squirmed, cried and at one point we had to shield our eyes as a beloved character lost his.
One of the main highlights was when a particularly venomous character died at what should have been a rather celebratory event; you know a character is hated when viewers cheer their death! The show returns on 13 April to many patient (and impatient) fans’ delight.
